Handwriter Effect

Use the Text Tool to choose a font that looks like handwriting. You can find a ton of fonts at DaFont. Set the text type to static text. On frame 100 or so on the timeline, right-click and select insert frame.

Create a new layer above the layer with text. Right-click the layer name and select Mask. Unlock the layer. Select the brush tool and draw a dot on the beginning of the text. Right-click frame 2 of the recently created layer and select Insert Keyframe. in this new frame, draw the next dot in the series. Continue this until all of the text area is covered.
